Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning.

I was late for the first day at my new job—a job I’d now have to compete for even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger.

While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons.

She’d ticketed a long line of cars—except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine.

Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine. Chances were, the owner would pay it and be none the wiser.

Except, I accidentally broke the windshield wiper while slipping the ticket onto the car’s window.

Seriously, my day couldn’t get any worse.

Things started to perk up when I ran into a gorgeous man in the elevator. We had one of those brief moments that only happened in movies.

You know the deal…your body lights up, fireworks go off, and the air around you crackles with electricity.

His heated stare left me flush when I stepped off the elevator.

Maybe things here wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Or so I thought.

Until I walked into my new boss’s office and met my competition.

The gorgeous man from the elevator was now my nemesis. His heated stare wasn’t because of any mutual attraction. It was because he’d saw me vandalize his car. And now he couldn’t wait to annihilate his rival.

There’s a fine line between love and hate—and we shouldn’t cross it.

We shouldn’t—but straddling that line could be so much fun.

I really didn’t care for the book. Long and drawn out. As you can see, I had to keep coming back to it. I did like the characters, but could not feel the love connection. More interesting as adversaries. Nice ending.
  • Another amazing story by Vi

The stories just keep getting better and you see so much of precious characters in new ones that she is building on. Bennett had me from his jog and every woman has some Annalise in her and has probably gone through what she did with a string along ex. There story was so fun to get wrapped up and in see progress. I love good simple love stories with big a lot of drama and just focusing on 2 people falling in love.
  • Feel in love with characters

Vi infuses her characters with such wit and charm, I couldn’t help but love them. Would have loved to see them more challenged. Story lacked intrigue. These two main characters could have conquered the world.
  • Read this book!

One of my new favorite Vi Keeland books! This was everything I was looking for in a book. There was so many good things about this book. One, both POVs were shared. Two, there was a back story to tie in with the present. Three, it was an office romance and those are one of the best types of romances. Lastly, the characters were amazing! I absolutely loved Bennett and Anna as individuals and as an “item”. Their chemistry was very sexy to read, specially with the build up on it. Anna was so funny and overall powering when it came to competing for her job. Bennett was also hilarious, very hot and it was really nice reading in his POV and reading his thoughts. I really never wanted to put this book down even though I had to a lot this past weekend. It was a great read, I would recommend to anyone even if they’ve never read Vi Keeland before!

Vi Keeland’s once again shares her talents in this breathtakingly beautiful story of two people who shouldn’t but straddle a fine line. Annalise is a perfect mess when we met her, late, it’s raining, she has pawned her parking ticket off an another car same make and model, while leaving her ticket she damages the windshield wiper, getting on the elevator she sees an attractive man who she soon learns she will be competing head to head with for the same job. Bennett is a mess himself handsome full of himself and his morning is as bad as her’s. Some one has damaged his week old car, left their ticket under his windshield and not left any thing else. He heads to his bosses off to meet his competition and he recognizes Annalise as the mystery women who messed with his car and is now messing with his job, she’s his competitor to stay where is is and not move to Dallas. This is where the chemistry begins as the two of them face a rollercoaster of events that bring them together yet tear them apart. This story makes you feel every possible emotion as you witness two professionals fighting for their livelihood in California or a forced move to Dallas as well as fighting personal demons and a fateful attraction to each other. This is one of my favorite Vi books and definitely a five star read. I’m sure is a book I’ll read again and again.
  • You Definitely Should Read!

This story captured my heart! I adored Bennett and Annalise. The dynamic between them was intense, hot, and super sweet. I loved the way this story was written and how all the secondary characters played such a pivotal role in who Bennett and Annalise were. I fell in love with Bennett immediately. From his sexy, fun personality to his guarded, broken heart, he ruined me completely. Annalise was sugar and spice and absolutely perfect. She was smart, kind, and strong enough to break down Bennett's walls and soothe his scars with her heart of gold. Vi Keeland continues to write the most beautiful, soul touching stories about love and redemption. With wit and passion, they are everything romance readers have come to love. I loved Bennett and Annalise's story. It may just be my favorite yet! We Shouldn’t is such a fantastic read! I highly recommend! ♥ Review by Lys I Love Story Time Book Blog

3.5 out of 5 Stars: Vi Keeland has become one of my go-to authors. I look forward to reading pretty much everything she publishes. I was really looking forward to We Shouldn't and as such, I think that my be why I'm a little disappointed. I had my hopes up a bit too high this time around. While I'm not saying anything negative about the book - the story and characters are engaging. I am saying though, that when compared with some of her other work, this one just doesn't quite measure up (in my opinion). I thought the story was a bit predictable. Two very competitive individuals are forced to vie for a single job following a merger between the two companies they each worked for. There's only room for one now. There is of course some animosity between the two as the fight to impress the board and win the position. And of course, they are highly attracted to each other too. I did enjoy the story of Lucas and his relationship with Bennett. He was refreshing - and having a teenager at home, he was totally believable. This is an entertaining story. I just think that Vi has other stories and characters that are a bit for thrilling.
  • GREAT book!

GREAT book! This is my favorite of the books Vi has published lately, either by herself or as a collaboration. As usual, her characters are very realistic, and that's what I have always loved the most about her books. Anna was flawed, as we all are, and she certainly got herself into some embarrassing situations...in front of others...like we've all done :) Bennett had a bit of a martyr complex where he didn't feel he deserved happiness, but once Anna caught wind of that, the two of them worked hard to be together in spite of it all. But seriously, Bennett is hot. Lol! The ending had a bit of a "An Affair to Remember" vibe to it, and I LOVED it. While I was sort of turned off of Vi's books because of the various medical conditions she depressingly gave to different characters in her books, this scenario was really well done and I liked it very much. Bottom line: This book was fantastic, a true page-turner, and I'll ALWAYS be a big Vi fan!!! (I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)
  • You should definitely read!!

Omg! Every time Vi comes out with a new book I swear its my new favorite! She has such a way with words and I absolutely love her characters! She has me feeling all the emotions! I’m laughing hysterically one minute and totally swooning the next!! Then of course you have your sad moments but I just finished and I’m absolutely grinning from ear to ear! I absolutely love Beckett and Annalise’s story!! Love their banter back and forth! Loved all their arguing and definitely all their making up! 😉 Ah, I love the build up in the book and it was just amazing between these two! Their chemistry was off the charts!! Beckett is so dreamy and I love his little smirk. He’s my new favorite book boyfriend! This is definitely a 5 star read for me! So if your on the fence think maybe you shouldn’t read this, then I’m here to tell you that you definitely should!!
